Chalisa Nitya Siddhi Parayana
Having explored the many benefits of chanting the Hanuman Chalisa with devotion—and the cautions to keep in mind—we now step into a more systematic and divine practice: Chalisa Nitya Siddhi Parayana.
This is a “sandwiched” daily prayer method designed to amplify the power of the Chalisa by placing it between the core mantras of Shri Rama and Hanuman. With Hanuman’s blessings and divine intuition—shaped by my own practice and enriched by the shared experiences of fellow devotees—this method has gradually been refined into a simple yet powerful daily routine.
I call it the sandwiched prayer because the Hanuman Chalisa is carefully enclosed between the Moola Mantra of Rama and Bija Mantra of Hanuman, creating a sacred flow that enhances focus, devotion, and spiritual strength. The practice deepens even further when one chants with awareness of the Chalisa’s meaning, rather than reciting mechanically, and it is amplified even more by sharing your experiences with fellow devotees
If you are reading this, take it as a sign of Hanuman’s blessings. My hope is that you will embrace this method and experience its transformative power. And if questions arise along the way, feel free to reach out—I am always happy to help fellow devotees on this path.
Daily Recommendation
At the very minimum, chant the Hanuman Chalisa once every day. For stronger spiritual impact, it is highly recommended to recite it three or five times on Tuesdays and Saturdays, the days most sacred to Lord Hanuman.
Preparation (Before You Begin)
- Purify yourself: Take a bath and wear clean, simple clothes.
- Prepare your altar: Sit before a Hanuman idol (preferred) or picture, placed on a fresh red cloth (red is auspicious for Hanuman), light incense, and a lamp (diya).
- Offerings (Optional): Place flowers, fruits and a bowl of water with Tulsi if possible.
These outward acts quiet the mind and center the heart for prayer.
Step-by-Step Method
- Invoke blessings — Begin by praying Lord Ganesha, Devi, your Gurus, your chosen deity (Ishta Devata), and your parents, in that order. This removes obstacles and brings divine guidance.
- Chant Rama Taraka Mantra — Shree Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram (11 times).
- Chant Hanuman Bīja Mantra — Om Hum Hanumate Namah (11 times).
- Chant the Hanuman Chalisa — Recite with full bhakti (devotion), saying Sri Ganeshaya Namah before each round, and pay attention to the meaning of every verse.
- Conclude the sandwich prayer — Close with the Rama Taraka Mantra (11 times) and the Hanuman Bīja Mantra (11 times).
A Key Tip
Chanting the Chalisa while consciously reflecting on the meaning of each verse multiplies its effect. This transforms the practice from a ritual into a direct spiritual experience, helping you find inner peace, strength, and true transformation at a much deeper level. Along with Nitya Parayana, practice selfless service—the very core of Hanuman’s life. Share about the Chalisa, inspire others to begin, and create your own Chalisa circle. In this way, your devotion expands beyond yourself, uplifting many and further amplifying the power of the Chalisa.
Chalisa Siddhi Sankalpa Parayana
While the Chalisa Nitya Siddhi Parayana is itself a powerful tool to guide your life and draw Hanuman’s blessings—and, over time, can even grant you siddhis—there is also another process known as Chalisa Siddhi Sankalpa Parayana. Unlike the daily practice, this is a focused sankalpa chanting done for a specified number of Saturdays, for a specific intetion/wish/Sankalpa as directed by Hanuman for each devotee.
This method is designed to help overcome grave obstacles in life, such as serious health issues, family conflicts, financial struggles, or protection from unseen negative forces. It can also be undertaken to fulfill eminent desires such as securing a job, obtaining a visa, succeeding in examinations, or progressing in business and career.
For this, devotees are advised to contact Shree Siddhi Sanjeevini Hanuman Chalisa Gudi (siddhisanjeevinihanuman@gmail.com), share your problems or desires, and receive a sankalpa tailored to your specific situation. I will not elaborate further here, as this process is beyond the scope of this book.
